This is a page about the history of Magic, from it's early beginnings, to the hugely popular game it has become today.

It all began in 1993 and has since gone down in history as one of the most famous card games of all time.

It was designed by Richard Garfield, a doctoral student in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.

It all began with Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited, and has gone on for 12 years to have gone through 43 sets (soon to be 44), but is still going strong.

If you want to find out about the history of the game go onto the Magic website, by clicking on the banner at the top.
